Vision and Mission of SWAK

The Society for Women and Aids in Kenya (SWAK) is an affiliate organisation of the Society for Women and Aids in Africa (SWAA) which is a continental body that seek to advocate on behalf of women, children and families in the fight against HIV/AIDS. SWAK was founded on the principles of SWAA and seeks to empower women in Kenya to overcome the effects of HIV/AIDS.

Over time we have developed our national tenets to give us our image and expound our purpose to serve our target community. These include a vision, mission and values binding our members into a team pursuing a common purpose. The tenets are articulated here below:

Our vision

Our vision is a society free of HIV/AIDS where everyone lives a dignified life

Our mission

Our mission is to mobilise and empower women, girls and the greater community to reduce their vulnerability to HIV/AIDS through advocacy, networking and strengthening capacity within the community.
